This is Day 5 of FUGE training 2012. As the days go on, we become even more excited about our first week of camp. We have become a family. We are no longer just staff members. From diving into God’s word in bible study training, to playing silly name games, to participating in Nine Square in the Air at rec, to laying hands upon each other and praying for one another, our group of 28 people has turned into a group of 1. Today’s theme was UNITY, and we were really able to grasp onto what it really looked like for the body of Christ to come together as one body with many gifts for a common goal–to advance the Kingdom of God. If I could say one thing about what I have learned thus far, it would go something like this:
“When you just let go and follow God, He will bless you in ways that you can NEVER imagine. He is absolutely faithful and soverign. Yea there will be hard times, and I mean really hard times throughout, but it is SO worth it in the end. #testify #soblessed #unionfuge2012”.
Prayer:
1) Pray that God would keep Satan at bay as we continue to grow closer as a staff.
2) Pray that God would begin to prepare the hearts of the students and adults who will be coming to camp this summer.
3) Pray that God would grant the staff strength as we continue training to make camp the best it can be.
So this summer’s journey comes straight to you from Centrifuge 2012. I will be updating my readers about the ins and outs of life as a staffer. I will be informing you of cool things that the Lord is doing and will update you on prayer concerns throughout. I hope that this can be used as a guide to enliven your prayer times for us and the ministry that God is doing this summer.

This week we have been in Paterson, WA. We helped the VBS at the Paterson Community Church. My fifth Big Apple Adventure is complete. Check, done, complete.
God did some crazy, amazing stuff in my life this week. He broke me down, and built me back up almost constantly. This week I have learned about the importance of prayer and how to ultimately depend on Christ for every situation. My God is amazing.
Definitely getting a little ready to come home….just a little. Don’t get too excited. lol.

As I sit here in Starbucks at 2:59 p.m., listening to Kim Walker’s “Your Love Never Fails”, I am not seeing just people. I am seeing lost souls. One thing is the same throughout. There is different ages, ethnicity, culture, race, sex–but do they really know Christ? Are they certain of their eternal destiny? What am I going to do? What are we going to do? We can’t save the nations, but You say ask and I shall give the nations to you. Are we asking? Do we care? Let’s get busy America. We are losing our mission field. Get real or get gone. Matthew 24:36- we may be running out of time.

Today was the salvation day at the VBS and Backyard Bible club that went on. I am not sure about the other team’s day, but my team for the week had an amazing time. We presented the gospel through evangelism cubes and through the salvation bracelet. It was definitely evident that the Spirit of the Lord was there. It was also evident, however, that the devil had his hand all over the place. He didn’t want that to go down today. Despite everything that didn’t go as “(we) planned”, the Lord was victorious. The gospel was presented several times and seeds were planted.
Continue to pray for the physical strength and spiritual state of each of our team members.

I really don’t know what to say in order to catch you up on this summer, but I did want to let you know how it has been going. I have had three mission assignments thus far. This past Saturday I chased balls, picked up pins, and ran around in a chicken suit for three hours. We had a block party at Reata Springs Baptist Church. This week we have been doing a backyard bible club at a backyard in Burbank. I basically have been in control of the recreation. We have had a relay race, semi obstacle course, and today was water day! Yes–we had a BLAST!! I had endless buckets of water thrown on my head.
PLEASE be praying for Thursday as that is the day that we will be sharing the gospel multiple times. Pray for Victoria, as she is teaching the lesson and explaining the salvation bracelet that day.
Last night started our Big Apple Adventure. I helped out a friend in the fifth and sixth grade class. I had never helped with that age group. It was great. We had a lot of fun and excitement. I just love VBS and what it stands for. 
On a personal level, God has been doing some amazing things. I am learning to depend on Him even more than before. I am learning how to become a servant leader. The hardest part of leading is being willing to follow. When you are put into certain situations, God has to become the center of our lives. It all stems from love–the greatest commandment of them all. If we love Him then the love He has shown us will automatically be spread to the ones around us. JELLO- Jesus Energizes (our) Lives and Loves Outrageously–the missionary’s life statement. 🙂
So update until now…we have all gotten together. We have had orientation the past couple of days. I feel like God is preparing us and guiding us to where we need to be. Next week we will be scattered. Some of us will be doing backyard bible clubs and several Big Apple Adventures. Be praying for Burbank Baptist, Hillview Baptist, Reata Springs Baptist, and Pine Street next week.
Pray for the strength of the missionaries as we get started Saturday. Pray for the Reata Springs block party this Saturday. Pray that it will be a good outreach opportunity for the community.
I am lovin it here. 70 degree weather here today. Cool breeze, nice sunshine, and no humidity. My God is an awesome God. I love cool summer nights on the mountain overlooking the tri-cities area. God does some pretty amazing things out on that mountain. 🙂

Tri-Cities Area
I just want to start out by saying that God is good. I feel like He has already begun to prepare this place ahead of us. With everyday that goes on we begin to see more and more of His Divine Providence as we learn to lean on Him for every situation that occurs. So far, God has put some very infuential people in my path that He will use to guide me and keep me sharp as I am here for the summer.
Prayer for today-continue to pray for the two team members flying in today. Also, pray for the young adult group that meets every Monday night in someone’s home. Pray that God would open their eyes to His new wonders and do a mighty work within them.
I arrived safely yesterday. There were no problems with the flight or airport-totally unexpected but thankful, regardless. This week is orientation/planning week. Most of our team members will arrive today and tomorrow, and Thursday starts orientation. Thanks for the prayers and support.

Specific prayer needs: pray for the youth and young adult ministry called Regeneration-that God would work and move in that age group and that they would learn to stand up and be leaders, pray for the Columbian Basin Baptist Association-that the churches in the area will begin to grow and reach out to others. Only close to 5% of the population in the area claims to be connected to a Christian church.
